1. It can initiate scaling on the inner surface of pipes, water heaters and tea kettles. When scaling occurs, the calcium & magnesium separate from the water and form a hard, thin layer on the inside of such appliances, causing the appliances to clog & reducing their ability to conduct heat.
   
   
2. It causes soap scum to build up on fishes & tiles and also reduces soap’s ability to lather.
   
   

Hard water can be reduced by treating the raw water that reaches your household water from point of entry. There are 2 methods to reduce water hardness.

1. Water softener – chemically replace the calcium and magnesium ions with sodium ions. But from a health perspective, calcium & magnesium are better & healthier for our body systems than sodium.
   
   
2. Water Purification System – will generally solve the same problems as water softeners, but without adding sodium to the water,

It is recommended that each house to install outdoor water purification system to reduce water hardness as an option to water softener which uses chemical to reduce water hardness.
